SOS

Our 110-year-old school in rural Gem County, as determined by Trout Architects, does not meet seismic stabilization standards and has significant dry rot in some walls. Approximately $500,000 in repairs is necessary to bring our building up to code.

Our students are currently attending school at the Ola Community Hall. To relieve stress on the community, something different will have to be done after this school year. The school district will need to pass a bond or levy to have funds to begin the process of repairing the school. Rather than wait on an unpredictable outcome, the community has decided to raise as much money as possible through grants and fundraising to help get our students back in our school faster.

A committee has been formed to apply for grants, set up fund raisers and let our supporters know the needs of the school. DID YOU KNOW, donations towards an Idaho School allows for 50% individual tax credit off the top. For more tax benefit information see the additional attachment. No gift is too small and any amount is appreciated. Donations can be made online at https://www.paypal.me/OlaElementary or by check. Checks should be made out to Ola PTO, Note SOS Fund. You can view additional information about Ola School on the video links or visit our Facebook page.
